Alpena Area JA

October 17, 2017

Huntington Bank provided JA Programming as well as Huntington Bank volunteers from Alpena and Gaylord to teach students at Sanborn Elementary about STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) careers, resources, entrepreneurship, goods and services and saving.

October 13, 2017

Alpena High School students enjoyed a presentation from Alpena Junior Achievement Board Member Chelsea Wallace, The Wallace Firm, PC., about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and other career choices.  She is directing them through the JA My Way website.  (see more info below)  Junior Achievement is excited to partner with the Alpena Chamber of Commerce to bring these tools to students that want to put their careers on the fast track.

Thanks to Huntington Bank, our Sanborn Elementary School Students learned valuable life lessons in their JA in a Day class!

Listen to what teachers are saying about JA Programs!

JA really got my students thinking about careers and their future goals.  What a great program to teach economics to elementary students.  Thank you to the volunteers who take the time out of their busy days to come in to spend a day with our students.

My 2nd graders really enjoyed the JA in a Day program. The activities were engaging and there was a lot of movement and variety to keep the students interested. Sara and Jennifer did an outstanding job with the presentation and the students. The program was very beneficial and really followed our 2nd grade social studies curriculum. Thanks so much for including our class in your rotation!

I thought the activities for third graders were great.  They were thought-provoking and motivating for the kids.  Some nice financial skills were included in the activities.  It was a good day and a valuable learning opportunity!
